Job summary

Electric Power Systems is seeking a Field Technician II to perform testing, inspection, and maintenance of substation electrical equipment. The role emphasizes safety, quality, and independent work with supervision as needed.

You will troubleshoot, document, and assist with commissioning activities, collaborating with engineers and senior technicians to ensure readiness for service while maintaining tools, PPE, and field standards.

Qualifications

• Must have a valid driver's license and clean driving record.
• Willingness to travel out of town for periods of time.
• Able to pass pre-employment drug screen due to safety sensitive role.
• A background check is required and must be satisfactory.
• Overtime work and travel may be required to support field activities.

Responsibilities

• Perform testing, inspection, and maintenance of substation equipment with supervision as needed.
• Inspect and test breakers, transformers, instrument transformers, grounding, battery systems, and switchgear.
• Troubleshoot equipment using schematics and manuals; escalate complex issues.
• Document testing, maintenance, and repair work per project requirements.
• Work with engineers and senior technicians to complete field activities safely and efficiently.
