Job summary

Electric Power Systems (EPS) is seeking a Field Technician II to perform testing, inspection, and maintenance of substation equipment with increased independence. You will troubleshoot issues, support complex field activities, and uphold safety and quality standards.

The role requires ability to travel, pass pre-employment drug screening, and a valid driver's license. NETA II certification preferred and an Associates or Bachelors in Electrical/Electronic technology are valued.

Responsibilities

• Adhere to all safety policies including PPE in substation environments.
• Participate in safety training, meetings, and job briefings; identify hazards and contribute to mitigation.
• Perform testing of high, medium, and low voltage equipment with limited supervision.
• Inspect, test, and maintain circuit breakers, transformers, instrument transformers, grounding systems, battery systems, and switchgear.
• Troubleshoot issues using schematics, wiring diagrams, and manuals; escalate as needed.
• Perform routine and corrective maintenance; repair, replacement, and adjustment of components.
• Execute functional checks and assist with commissioning to verify readiness for service.
• Document testing, maintenance, and repair work per project requirements.
• Collaborate with engineers and senior technicians to complete field activities safely and efficiently.
• Maintain tools and work areas to meet standards.
