Job summary

Electric Power Systems (EPS) is seeking a Field Technician II to perform testing, inspection, and maintenance of substation electrical equipment with increasing independence. You will troubleshoot issues, support commissioning activities, and ensure safety and quality in every task.

Responsibilities include testing high/medium/low voltage gear, inspecting breakers and transformers, and documenting work per project requirements. Travel and overtime may be required as part of project commitments.

Qualifications

• Requires safety-sensitive role and pre-employment drug screen.
• Background check required.
• Willingness to travel and work overtime/out of town.
• Valid driver's license with good driving record.

Responsibilities

• Adhere to safety policies and PPE usage in substation environments.
• Participate in safety training and job briefings; identify hazards and assist mitigation.
• Support safety culture through hazard reporting and lessons learned.
• Test high, medium, and low voltage equipment with limited supervision.
• Inspect, test, and maintain circuit breakers, transformers, instrument transformers, grounding, battery systems, and switchgear.
• Troubleshoot using schematics, wiring diagrams, and manuals; escalate when needed.
• Perform routine maintenance and repairs; assist commissioning activities.
• Document testing, maintenance, and repair work accurately.
• Collaborate with engineers and senior technicians to complete field activities safely.
• Maintain tools and work areas to standards.
