Electric Power Systems (EPS) is seeking a Field Technician II in Illinois to perform testing, inspection, and maintenance of substation equipment with increasing independence. This role emphasizes safety, hands-on troubleshooting, and collaboration with engineers.

Qualifications

• Must pass a pre-employment drug screen.
• Must pass a satisfactory criminal background check.
• Ability to work overtime and travel out of town.
• Valid driver's license with good driving record.

Responsibilities

• Adhere to all safety policies and PPE requirements in substation environments.
• Participate in safety trainings, meetings and job briefings; help mitigate hazards.
• Support safety culture through hazard reporting and lessons learned.
• Test high, medium and low voltage equipment with limited supervision.
• Inspect and maintain breakers, transformers, instrument transformers, grounding and switchgears.
• Troubleshoot using schematics and manuals; escalate complex issues.
• Perform routine and corrective maintenance on electrical components.
• Assist commissioning activities and verify equipment readiness for service.
• Accurately document testing and maintenance per project requirements.
• Collaborate with engineers and senior technicians to complete field activities.
• Maintain tools, equipment, and work areas to standards.
