Job summary

UES, Inc. seeks a Field Technician I to support engineering, environmental services, materials testing, and inspection projects. You will conduct on-site inspections, testing, and environmental sampling to ensure construction, infrastructure, and environmental work meets industry standards.

Qualifications

High school diploma or equivalent required; vocational training or coursework in construction, engineering, geology, or related field is a plus.
0-3 years of field-based outdoor or physically demanding experience preferred.
Valid driver’s license with safe driving record; ability to operate company vehicles.
Industry certifications such as ACI Level 1 Concrete Testing or ability to obtain within defined period.
Commitment to safety, OSHA standards, and PPE use.
Basic computer proficiency, including MS Office and Field Data Collection software.
Ability to read blueprints, procedures, manuals, and technical documents.
Strong time management, organization, and problem-solving skills.
Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
Flexibility for varying schedules including early mornings, weekends, overtime, and overnight travel.

Responsibilities

Conduct field and laboratory testing of soil, concrete, asphalt, aggregate, and other construction materials.
Properly collect, label, and transport samples to laboratories.
Ensure testing requirements meet project specifications and company policies.
Complete reports, logs, and documentation of test results and submit timely.
Maintain testing equipment per guidelines and manufacturer specs.
Document test results and site conditions accurately in reports and presentations.
Communicate updates with dispatch, field supervisors, and project managers.
Adhere to project timelines and complete tasks on schedule.
Adapt to changing project requirements and weather conditions.
Participate in training and certification programs to maintain proficiency.
Follow OSHA safety protocols and use PPE at all times.
Operate and maintain a company vehicle, including routine maintenance.
Perform other duties as needed to support project goals.
