Job summary

UES, Inc. is seeking a motivated Field Technician I to support engineering, environmental services, and materials testing across diverse projects.

You will perform on-site inspections, collect samples, and run tests to ensure compliance with specifications and regulatory requirements. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, safety-conscious, and capable of working outdoors with frequent travel to job sites.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required; vocational training is a plus.
• 0–3 years of field-based outdoor or physically demanding experience preferred.
• Valid driver’s license with clean driving record; ability to operate company vehicles safely.
• Industry certifications such as ACI Level 1 Concrete Testing or ability to obtain within time frame.
• Commitment to OSHA safety standards and PPE usage.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office and field data collection tools (FDC).
• Ability to read blueprints and technical documents; strong math and measurement skills.

Responsibilities

• Conduct field and laboratory testing of soils, concrete, and asphalt per specs and standards.
• Properly collect, label, and transport samples to the lab for testing.
• Maintain testing equipment and ensure calibration per guidelines.
• Prepare detailed reports and logs of test results for project managers.
• Communicate status, site conditions, and issues to field supervisors and managers.
• Travel to job sites; adapt to schedules and weather conditions as needed.
• Participate in safety programs and ensure PPE compliance.
• Operate and maintain assigned company vehicle and coordinate maintenance.
• Perform other duties to support project goals.
