Job summary

UES is seeking a motivated Field Technician I to support engineering, environmental services, materials testing, and inspection projects. You will perform on-site inspections, collect samples, and conduct testing to ensure compliance with project specifications and regulatory requirements.

The role requires safety-conscious, detail-oriented individuals who thrive in outdoor environments and can travel frequently to diverse field locations.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required; vocational training is a plus.
• 0-3 years of field-based outdoor experience preferred.
• Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
• OSHA safety standards knowledge or willingness to obtain.
• Basic computer proficiency with MS Office and field data tools.
• Ability to read and interpret technical documents and blueprints.

Responsibilities

• Conduct field and laboratory testing of soil, concrete, asphalt, aggregate, and other construction materials to verify compliance with project specifications and regulatory requirements.
• Collect, label, and transport samples from job sites to laboratories.
• Prepare detailed reports, logs, and presentations per company standards.
• Maintain testing equipment and PPE in good working condition.
• Communicate test results and site conditions to dispatch, supervisors, and project managers.
• Travel to job sites and adapt to changing schedules and weather.
