Job summary

UES is seeking a motivated Field Technician I to support engineering, environmental services, and materials testing. You will inspect sites, collect samples, run tests, and generate reports to ensure quality and regulatory compliance.

Frequent travel to diverse project sites is required, with growth opportunities and hands-on training across geotechnical and environmental projects. The role emphasizes safety, accuracy, and teamwork, with exposure to outdoor environments and variable schedules.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required; technical coursework is a plus.
• 0–3 years in a field-based outdoor role preferred; construction/materials testing experience is a plus.
• Valid driver's license with clean record; ability to operate company vehicles safely.
• Industry certifications such as ACI Level 1 or ability to obtain within a specified time.
• Commitment to safety and OSHA standards; basic computer skills (MS Office) and data entry.

Responsibilities

• Conduct field and laboratory testing of soil, concrete, asphalt, aggregate, and other materials.
• Collect, label, and transport samples from job sites to laboratories.
• Prepare detailed test reports, logs, and documentation for project managers.
• Ensure testing complies with project specs, requirements, and policies.
• Maintain testing equipment and adhere to PPE and safety guidelines.
• Communicate updates on job status and site conditions to supervisors and clients.
• Travel to multiple job sites; participate in ongoing training and certifications.
