Job summary

PowerSecure, a Southern Company subsidiary, seeks an experienced Service Technician – Commercial Generators to perform maintenance and repair on contracted and non-contracted generator and power distribution equipment. You will provide technical support to customers on operational or maintenance aspects and work across a multi-level technician ladder.

Travel to client sites is required; candidates must read schematics and troubleshoot ATS, loadbanking, and control retrofits.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED or equivalent.
• Three, six, or ten years field experience depending on level (II/III/IV).
• Experience with 500kW+ generator systems preferred.
• Proficiency with preventative maintenance and loadbanking equipment.
• Ability to read schematics and wiring diagrams.

Responsibilities

• Perform daily maintenance and repair of generator and power distribution equipment.
• Provide 24x7 on-call services as required.
• Interact with customers to communicate status and needs.
• Document work via Field Service Reports, time and expense reports.
