Job summary

Stantec in Pennsylvania is seeking a Technical Assistant to support construction inspection on major roadway and bridge projects. You will assist in reviewing drawings, documenting field activities, and ensuring compliance with plans and permits.

This entry-level role offers on-site work across PA, with training opportunities including PennDOT TCI modules; prior inspection experience is a plus, but a high school diploma and willingness to learn are essential.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or relevant experience accepted in lieu of diploma.
• Minimum of one year construction inspection experience on major roadway and/or bridge inspection projects preferred.
• PennDOT and/or Pennsylvania Turnpike experience preferred.
• Willing to complete PennDOT (12) web-based TCI training modules preferred.

Responsibilities

• Review drawings to prepare for the inspection.
• Responsible to inspect and document construction activities on major transportation projects.
• Conduct field measurements to establish quantities for pay item documentation.
• Inspect work site for proper traffic control setup.
• Inspect erosion control devices, ensure they are maintained and that they are in compliance with applicable permits.
• Monitor and record materials certifications in accordance with the client’s procedures.
