Job summary

Franklin Energy is seeking a Direct Load Control Technician to install, inspect, modify, and service DLC devices in residential settings with attention to safety and quality. You will work with HVAC components and support structured processes while engaging with customers.

Requirements include 1–3 years of related experience, a high school diploma, a valid driver’s license, and willingness to travel up to 95% for on-site support across communities. Teamwork and reliability are essential.

Qualifications

• 1–3 years of experience preferably in basic wiring, lighting, HVAC, troubleshooting and/or other technologies installed in commercial/residential applications.
• Mechanical and technical aptitude required.
• Basic construction knowledge
• Basic knowledge of building science/energy auditing
• Experience in installing technologies, manual labor and using tools – Preferred
• Background in Building science/design or related fields – Preferred

Responsibilities

• Install, inspect, modify, remove and/or service DLC devices.
• Exhibit basic HVAC technical aptitude.
• Perform electrical/electronic work and mechanical principles.
• Understand air conditioning system components.
• Ensure customer specifications and quality standards are met.
• Participate in on-call rotation and after-hours service calls.
• Complete inventory counts and submit reports.
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of warehouses and fleet areas.
• Ensure safety products in fleet vehicles and perform routine vehicle inspections.
