Job summary

Franklin Energy in Greensboro, NC, is seeking a Direct Load Control Technician to install, remove, modify, inspect and service DLC devices in residential markets. You will leverage basic HVAC and electrical knowledge, follow safety and quality standards, and present a professional image to clients.

The role requires reading instructions, coordinating with customers and team members, and performing inventory, vehicle inspections, and after-hours support.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent required.
• 1–3 years of experience in wiring, lighting, HVAC, or related tech preferred.
• Mechanical and technical aptitude required.
• Basic construction knowledge beneficial.
• Knowledge of building science or energy auditing is helpful.
• Experience installing technologies or doing manual labor preferred.

Responsibilities

• Install, inspect, modify, remove and/or service DLC devices.
• Exhibit HVAC and electrical aptitude.
• Work with electrical, mechanical theories and principles.
• Understand basic components of air conditioning systems.
• Maintain professional appearance and customer-facing demeanor.
• Meet customer specs and company quality standards.
• Complete special projects as assigned.
• Collaborate with team to improve operations year over year.
• Occasional weekend travel to job sites.
• Participate in on-call rotation for after-hours service calls.
• Conduct inventory counts and submit reports as requested.
• Keep warehouse and fleet areas organized and safe.
