Job summary

Franklin Energy is seeking an installation technician for Direct Load Control devices in residential settings. You will install, inspect, and service DLC equipment, requiring basic HVAC knowledge and strong safety practices. The role involves fieldwork with potential weekend travel and On-Call rotations.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent required.
• 1–3 years experience in basic wiring, lighting, HVAC, troubleshooting in commercial/residential apps.
• Mechanical and technical aptitude required.
• Basic construction knowledge.
• Basic knowledge of building science/energy auditing.
• Experience installing technologies, manual labor and using tools preferred.
• Background in building science, building envelope, weatherization, maintenance, or related fields.

Responsibilities

• Install, inspect, modify, remove and/or service DLC devices.
• Exhibit HVAC technical aptitude and understanding.
• Work with electrical/electronic usage and mechanical theories.
• Understand components of air conditioning systems.
• Present a professional appearance for the brand and client.
• Meet customer specifications and quality standards.
• Complete special projects and collaborate to improve operations.
• Occasional weekend travel to job sites for client needs.
• Participate in On-Call rotation for after-hours calls.
• Conduct inventory counts and report findings.
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of warehouses and fleet areas.
• Ensure safety gear in vehicles; keep vehicles clean.
• Perform routine vehicle safety inspections and report maintenance.
