Job summary

RESA Power, LLC is seeking an entry-level Field Tech Apprentice to gain hands-on experience in power transmission and distribution. You will inspect, test, troubleshoot, and maintain HV equipment under guidance, with comprehensive training to work independently as a field technician.

The role involves handling low to 500kV systems, learning to operate high voltage test equipment, and adhering to strict safety standards. This is a full-time on-site position across multiple locations in the US.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• No prior field experience required; technical school preferred.
• Familiarity with industry standards (NETA, NEC, OSHA, NFPA) preferred but not required.
• Basic understanding of electricity and willingness to learn.
• Ability to work safely and adhere to electrical safety procedures.
• Effective communication skills for working with customers and team members.

Responsibilities

• Inspect, test, troubleshoot, and data-collect HV systems (up to 500kV).
• Test and maintain low, medium, and high voltage switchgear and circuit breakers.
• Inspect/maintain/repair transformers and related equipment.
• Maintain, test, recondition, and repair circuit breakers (low to 15kV).
• Work with SF6-filled equipment and gas-insulated switchgear.
• Operate high voltage test equipment (Doble Power Factor).
• Start-up, troubleshoot, and repair controls and transfer schemes.
• Participate in emergency on-call rotations and respond to emergencies.
