Job summary

RESA Power, LLC is hiring a Field Tech Apprentice to gain hands-on experience in power transmission and distribution. The role covers inspection, testing, troubleshooting, and maintenance of various electrical systems including HV equipment.

A comprehensive training program will guide you to work independently as a field technician. You will operate under supervision, perform data collection, and adhere to safety and regulatory standards.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED required.
• No prior field experience required; technical school preferred.
• Familiarity with industry standards such as NETA, NEC, OSHA, NFPA preferred but not required.
• Strong willingness to learn and follow electrical safety procedures.

Responsibilities

• Inspecting, testing, troubleshooting, and collecting data on low, medium, and high voltage systems (up to 500kV).
• Performing testing and maintenance on low, medium, and high voltage switchgear and circuit breakers.
• Inspection, maintenance, testing, and repair of transformers (45 KVA to 130 MVA) and related equipment.
• Maintenance, testing, reconditioning, and repair of circuit breakers (low voltage 480V, up to 15kV).
• Working with SF6-filled equipment and gas-insulated switchgear.
• Testing and inspecting low and medium voltage cable installations.
• Operating high voltage test equipment, such as Doble Power Factor test sets.
• Participating in on-call rotations and responding to emergencies.
