Job summary

bioMérieux is seeking a Field Systems Engineer to service customers across Georgia and nationwide. The role requires remote work with extensive travel, predominantly overnight, to install, maintain, upgrade, and repair instruments to meet specifications.

The position emphasizes strong technical skills, customer relations, and ability to work independently with minimal supervision, including on-call rotation and documentation duties.

Qualifications

• Bachelor degree in Engineering, Electronic Technology, Biomedical or related discipline.
• 2+ years of professional experience troubleshooting and/or repair of electro‑mechanical/electronic/computer/electrical systems.
• Education substitution: 6+ years of relevant experience in lieu of a Bachelor's degree.
• Must have and maintain a valid driver’s license.

Responsibilities

• Respond to customer needs and perform installations, maintenance, upgrades, and repairs using electronic and computer skills.
• Build trust with customers, promote service agreements, and identify sales opportunities for cross-functional teams.
• Drive field service revenue through billable offerings like preventive maintenance and equipment moves.
• Attend 6–9 weeks of product training at Durham, NC or St. Louis, MO offices within the first year.
• Travel includes scheduled and unscheduled visits with overnight stays for wide territories and occasional national travel.
• Participate in weekend/holiday on-call rotation (~every 5 weeks).
• Complete service work orders, QA checklists, and training requirements on time.
