Job summary

Silent-Aire, a division of Johnson Controls, seeks an engineering technician with expertise in large-scale mechanical systems for mission-critical facilities. The role involves field service, installation, startup, and troubleshooting of refrigeration and HVAC equipment, including PLC-based controls.

You will split time between customer sites and manufacturing teams, communicating effectively with clients and internal staff.

Qualifications

• Must be able to read, understand and work from blueprints, specifications and schematics.

Responsibilities

• Read and interpret electrical, control and mechanical blueprints, drawings, and other specifications.
• Measure and lay out reference points for installation.
• Assemble and install refrigeration or air conditioning components using hand and power tools.
• Measure and cut piping and connect piping using welding and brazing equipment.
• Start up system and test for leaks using testing devices.
• Recharge system with refrigerant, check and test regulators, calibrate system and perform routine maintenance.
• Troubleshoot, diagnose, and repair HVAC/refrigeration equipment and systems.
• Troubleshoot PLC-based Custom Controls designed and built by Silent-Aire.
• Communicate technical issues to both technical and non-technical staff and stakeholders.
