Job summary

Silent-Aire, a division of Johnson Controls, is seeking an engineering technician to support data center cooling systems and large-scale mechanical infrastructure. You will split time between field customer interactions and manufacturing teams, reading blueprints, performing installations, start-ups, and ongoing maintenance.

Travel to customer sites is required. A valid driver’s license and a high school diploma are essential, along with safety-consciousness and strong communication skills.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED.
• Valid driver’s license.
• Experience with startup and commissioning at customer facilities.
• Ability to read blueprints, specs, and schematics.
• Knowledge of safety practices and building codes.
• Ability to travel to field sites.

Responsibilities

• Read electrical, control, and mechanical blueprints and specs.
• Install refrigeration or air conditioning components using hand and power tools.
• Measure, lay out points, and connect piping; weld/braze where needed.
• Start-up system and test for leaks; recharge refrigerant and calibrate.
• Troubleshoot and repair HVAC/refrigeration equipment and PLC-based controls.
