Job summary

Silent-Aire, a division of Johnson Controls, seeks an Engineering Technician to work on large-scale HVAC systems and CRAHU installations. You will split time between field customer interfaces and collaborating with manufacturing teams to optimize product performance for mission-critical facilities.

The role requires strong problem-solving, blueprint literacy, and the ability to communicate with diverse stakeholders. Travel to customer sites is expected, with safety and quality as priorities.

Qualifications

• Must have knowledge of cooling/refrigeration equipment and systems.
• Must have knowledge of electricity and electrical and solid state control systems.
• Must understand safety practices and building codes.
• Customer service skills.
• Experience with start up and commissioning at customer facilities.
• Ability to read, understand and work from blueprints, specifications, and schematics.
• Ability to maintain required records and prepare reports.
• Must have valid passport/driver’s license.

Responsibilities

• Read and interpret electrical, control and mechanical blueprints, drawings, and specifications.
• Assemble and install refrigeration or air conditioning components using hand and power tools.
• Measure and lay out reference points for installation.
• Test for leaks and start up system; recharge refrigerant and calibrate.
• Troubleshoot PLC-based Custom Controls and HVAC systems.
• Communicate technical issues to both technical and non-technical staff and stakeholders.
• Interface with customers in the field and collaborate with manufacturing teams to improve products.
