Job summary

Silent-Aire, a division of Johnson Controls, seeks an Engineering Technician to support data center cooling systems. You will read blueprints, install refrigeration components, lay out installations, and assist with startups and commissioning at client sites.

Strong mechanical knowledge and PLC familiarity are essential, along with good communication with customers and internal teams. The role emphasizes field work, collaboration with design and manufacturing engineering, and adherence to safety

Qualifications

• Knowledge of cooling/refrigeration equipment and systems.
• Experience with start up and commissioning at customer facilities.
• Ability to read, understand and work from blueprints, specifications, and schematics.
• Strong communication and problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities

• Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and specifications.
• Measure and lay out reference points for installation.
• Assemble and install refrigeration or air conditioning components.
• Measure and cut piping and connect piping using welding and brazing equipment.
• Start up system and test for leaks; recharge and test regulators.
• Troubleshoot and repair HVAC/R equipment and PLC-based controls.
• Communicate technical issues clearly to technical and non-technical staff.
