Job summary

Integrated Power Services (IPS) is seeking a Field Service Technician to troubleshoot, repair, and maintain equipment while delivering exceptional customer service. The role involves on-site work with motor and gear assembly, laser alignment, and mechanical inspection in diverse settings across North America and beyond.

You will work with top technicians using advanced diagnostic tools, requiring a hands-on mindset, a valid driver’s license, and flexibility for overtime and on-call schedules.

Qualifications

• 2+ years hands-on experience with AC/DC motors, gearboxes, pumps, or similar rotating industrial equipment.
• Ability to read and interpret precision measuring instruments and technical blueprints.
• Strong problem-solving and analytical mindset in a fast-paced, continuous-improvement environment.
• Strong customer-facing communication skills.
• Valid Driver's License and willingness to work flexible hours, overtime, and weekends for on-call field service.
• Experience with PdMA testing or Level I Vibration Analysis is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Lead installation and removal of AC/DC motors and coupled equipment with laser alignments.
• Perform precise mechanical inspections using micrometers, calipers, and dial indicators.
• Replace bearings, gearboxes, and torque-critical components with specialized tooling.
• Conduct diagnostic tests using portable equipment to ensure system reliability.
• Clean and prep electro-mechanical equipment using bead blasting, ice blasting, and solvents.
• Maintain safety standards while working independently or in a team on projects.
