Job summary

Powell is seeking an Associate Field Service Technician to install, test and service Powell switchgear across the US and Canada. You will perform installations, preventive and corrective maintenance, and support a wide range of field activities.

Ideal candidates have 2+ years in shop or field electrical work, familiarity with ANSI IEEE standards, and the ability to read schematics. Travel-heavy role requiring strong problem-solving and team collaboration.

Qualifications

• Two or more years as a shop and/or field electrical/breaker technician.
• Basic knowledge of ANSI IEEE device function numbers and switchgear layouts.
• Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics and test reports.

Responsibilities

• Adhere to Powell’s safety and quality standards.
• Document site work including time sheets, service orders and materials.
• Communicate work schedules to Field Operations Scheduler and District Service Manager.
• Travel up to 85% of the year and support after hours as needed.
• Coordinate with project management, customers and vendors professionally.
• Support manufacturing with in-house fabrication and oversee small crews.
