Job summary

Powell Service Technicians are responsible for ensuring the safety, quality and performance of Powell equipment across the US and Canada, including installations and maintenance. Technicians travel to service west coast, gulf coast, offshore and east coast regions, with full office support and a company vehicle upon qualification.

Applicants must be able to travel up to 85% of the year, adhere to safety standards, and coordinate with project management and customers.

Qualifications

• 8 years field or shop electrical/breaker technician experience.
• Knowledge of ANSI/IEEE C37 standards for breakers and switchgear.
• Basic knowledge of device function numbers and conductor ampacities in switchgear applications.
• Ability to write accurate test reports and explain basic anomalies.

Responsibilities

• Adhere to Powell safety and quality standards.
• Complete site documentation on time (time sheets, service reports, materials used).
• Provide regular communication with Field Operations Scheduler and District Service Manager.
• Travel up to 85% of the year and support flexible work hours including weekends.
• Coordinate with project management, customers, vendors and labor in a professional manner.
• Perform Switchgear and PCR installations and related testing and repair tasks.
