Job summary

Powell Field Service Technicians ensure the end-to-end safety, quality and performance of Powell equipment across the US and Canada, including installations, preventive maintenance, and corrective maintenance. Qualified technicians are expected to travel up to 85% of the year and are provided a company vehicle, standard tooling, testing equipment, a laptop, phone compensation and an expense card.

Qualifications

• Two or more years as a shop and/or field electrical/breaker technician
• Knowledge of ANSI IEEE C37 standards related to breakers and switchgear
• Able to travel up to 85% of the year and work varied shifts

Responsibilities

• Adhere to Powell’s safety and quality standards
• Complete site documentation (time sheets, service orders, materials used)
• Communicate work schedule to Field Operations Scheduler and District Service Manager
• Travel up to 85% and work flexible hours including weekends
• Coordinate with project management, customers, vendors, and labor support
• Perform switchgear installations and power testing (insulation, hi-pot, torque)
