Job summary

Starrett Metrology Systems Division | Starrett Kinemetric Engineering, Inc. is seeking a Field Service Technician for a full-time, remote/field-based role.

The position requires residence in PA, OH, NY, or the New England area and involves frequent overnight travel to customer facilities to install, calibrate, maintain, and repair precision measurement systems. You will provide on-site and remote technical support, train customers, and complete service reports while collaborating with Sales,

Qualifications

• Install, set up, calibrate, and validate measurement equipment.
• Strong mechanical and electrical troubleshooting skills.
• Willingness to travel frequently, including overnight stays.
• Ability to work with customers and provide on-site and remote support.

Responsibilities

• Install, set up, calibrate, and validate advanced measurement equipment at customer facilities.
• Perform preventive maintenance, diagnose issues, and complete repairs.
• Troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, software, and application problems.
• Provide on-site and remote technical assistance to customers.
• Train customers on equipment operation and software functionality.
• Complete service reports, time records, and technical documentation.
• Collaborate with Sales, Engineering, Product Specialists, and distributors to resolve issues.
• Support trade shows and product demonstrations.
• Identify opportunities for upgrades, retrofits, and replacements.
