Job summary

The L.S. Starrett Company is seeking a Field Service Technician in the Starrett Metrology Systems Division.

This remote/field-based role requires residence in PA, OH, NY, or New England and involves installing, maintaining, calibrating, troubleshooting, and repairing advanced metrology equipment at customer facilities. You will work with vision, optical, force measurement, and other metrology technologies while delivering high-quality technical support and customer training.

Qualifications

• Associate degree or equivalent technical experience in electronics/engineering.
• Experience with industrial equipment and precision instrumentation.
• Valid driver's license and frequent travel ability.
• Willingness to travel, including overnights.

Responsibilities

• Install, set up, calibrate, and validate precision equipment at customer sites.
• Perform preventive maintenance, diagnose issues, and complete repairs.
• Troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, software, and application problems.
• Provide on-site and remote technical assistance to customers.
• Train customers on equipment operation and software functionality.
• Prepare service reports, time and expense documentation.
• Maintain tools, equipment, and service inventory.
