Job summary

L.S. Starrett Company is seeking a Field Service Technician for its Starrett Metrology Systems Division.

This full-time, remote/field-based role requires residence in PA, OH, NY, or New England, with frequent overnight travel to customer sites to install, calibrate, and service precision metrology systems. You will troubleshoot advanced measurement equipment, provide on-site and virtual support, and train customers while aligning with safety and quality standards.

Qualifications

• Associate degree or equivalent technical experience in Electronics, Engineering Technology, Mechatronics or related field.
• Experience with industrial equipment, automation systems, machine tools, or precision instrumentation.
• Willingness to travel frequently, including overnight stays.
• Valid driver's license and ability to travel across PA, OH, NY and New England.

Responsibilities

• Install, set up, calibrate, and validate precision measurement equipment at customer sites.
• Perform preventive maintenance, diagnose issues, and complete repairs.
• Troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, software, and application problems on-site.
• Provide on-site and remote technical assistance to customers.
• Train customers on operation, software, and best practices.
• Prepare service reports, time records, and technical documentation.
