Job summary

L.S. Starrett Company is seeking a Field Service Technician for its Metrology Systems Division. This remote/field-based role requires residence in PA, OH, NY, or New England, with frequent travel to customer sites and occasional overnight stays.

You will install, calibrate, service, and train customers on high-precision metrology systems. Responsibilities include preventive maintenance, troubleshooting across mechanical, electrical, software domains, and generating detailed service reports.

Qualifications

• Associate degree in Electronics or related field.
• Experience with industrial equipment and automation.
• Valid driver's license and willingness to travel.
• Must reside in PA, OH, NY, or New England states.
• Ability to travel frequently, including overnight stays.

Responsibilities

• Install, calibrate, and validate advanced metrology equipment at customer sites.
• Perform preventive maintenance and repairs.
• Troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, software, and application issues.
• Provide on-site and remote technical support.
• Train customers on operation and software usage.
• Complete service reports, time records, and documentation.
• Maintain tools and inventory; collaborate with Sales and Engineering.
• Assist with trade shows and product demonstrations.
• Identify opportunities for upgrades and retrofits.
• Follow safety and quality requirements.
