Job summary

IPG is seeking a Field Service Technician to perform on-site maintenance, troubleshooting, and repairs of IPG/Better Packages equipment at customer locations. You will ensure equipment uptime, support production needs, and deliver high-quality service in the field.

The role requires hands-on mechanical and electrical aptitude, strong customer communication, and the ability to work independently while representing IPG at customer sites. Travel up to 30% is expected.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent required.
• Associate degree in a technical field preferred.
• Experience with electrical/electromechanical systems.
• Experience in packaging automation is a plus.
• Proficiency with PC applications for documentation/reporting.

Responsibilities

• Perform on-site installation, repair, and preventive maintenance of IPG/Better Packages equipment.
• Diagnose mechanical, electrical, and automation-related issues using testing tools and documentation.
• Provide on-the-job training to customer maintenance teams as needed.
• Establish and execute PM programs to minimize downtime.
• Follow field service procedures including documenting service actions and submitting reports.
• Perform software updates on equipment when required and assist senior technicians as needed.
