Job summary

IPG is seeking a Field Service Technician to perform on-site maintenance, troubleshooting, and repairs of IPG/Better Packages equipment at customer locations. You will ensure equipment uptime, support customer production needs, and deliver a high level of technical service directly in the field.

The role requires hands-on mechanical and electrical aptitude, strong customer communication, and the ability to work independently while traveling up to 30% of the week.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent required; technical degree preferred.
• Strong electrical and electromechanical diagnostic skills.
• Experience with packaging automation systems is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Perform on-site installation, repair, and preventive maintenance on IPG/Better Packages equipment.
• Diagnose mechanical, electrical, and automation-related issues using tools and documentation.
• Provide on-the-job training to customer maintenance teams as needed.
• Follow field service procedures, document actions, and maintain service records.
• Travel frequently, including overnight travel, up to 30% of the work week.
• Support senior technicians on complex installations and escalations.
