Job summary

IPG is seeking a Field Service Technician to perform on-site maintenance, troubleshooting, and repairs of IPG/Better Packages equipment at customer sites. You will ensure uptime, support production needs, and provide clear technical service in the field.

Requires hands-on mechanical and electrical aptitude, customer communication skills, and the ability to work independently while representing IPG at customer sites. Travel up to 30% is expected.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent required; technical degree preferred.
• Electrical and electromechanical system knowledge to diagnose faults on-site.
• Basic mechanical skills to disassemble and reassemble components safely.
• Experience in packaging automation systems is preferred.
• Proficient with PC apps (Microsoft Office) for reporting and documentation.
• Strong communication and customer service skills.

Responsibilities

• Perform on-site installation, repair, and preventive maintenance on IPG equipment.
• Diagnose mechanical, electrical, and automation issues using tools and docs.
• Provide on-the-job training to customer maintenance teams as needed.
• Establish and execute Preventive Maintenance programs for end-user accounts.
• Document service actions, submit reports, and maintain accurate records.
• Travel up to 30% and assist with complex field service projects as needed.
