Job summary

BD is seeking a Field Service Engineer to install and service instrumentation in regulated environments. The role covers Philadelphia, Upstate NY, NJ and NY Metro, with 60% travel and 1–2 overnight stays per week. Strong customer interfacing and hands-on repair skills are essential.

Qualifications include a high school diploma and 3 years of instrument repair experience. Valid driver's license and proficiency with MS Office are required; electronics background preferred.

Qualifications

• High School diploma required.
• 3 years’ experience fixing instruments or components.
• Valid Driver's License with clean MVR.
• Prior Field Service Engineer experience in medical devices preferred.
• Experience in customer interfacing roles.
• Proficiency with MS Office (Word/Excel).
• Familiarity with Mac and PC operating systems.

Responsibilities

• Install and service instrumentation with minimal supervision per ISO/GMP standards.
• Provide follow-up service by calling customers after service.
• Maintain car stock inventory, test equipment, tools and data.
• Complete service documentation per GMP requirements.
• Maintain travel expenses within guidelines for field service.
• Report quality control and technical problems to the Service Center.
• Maintain and utilize company vehicle per fleet policy.
• Collaborate with other departments to resolve customer issues.
• Represent BD with high standards of professional behavior.
• Travel approximately 60% with 1–2 overnight stays weekly.
