Job summary

Kodiak Gas Services is seeking a senior Field Service Technician to lead one or more compressor-related operations, mentor technicians, and ensure top mechanical availability across units in the Texas area. The role requires advanced diagnostic and repair skills in gas processes and compressor packages.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent required.
• SSE program completion plus 3 years in an intermediate Field Technician role preferred.
• 5+ years in compression process and equipment experience.
• Deep knowledge of gas processes and compressor systems.
• Knowledge of compressor brands such as Waukesha, Ariel, Caterpillar.
• Strong English reading/writing/speaking skills and a valid driver’s license.

Responsibilities

• Directs, coordinates, and performs activities per Kodiak procedures; acts as area mentor.
• Engages in all HSE activities; serves as Safety Expert and role model.
• Troubleshoots complex repairs and major equipment overhauls; electrical issues.
• Maintains customer relationships and supports area budget planning.
• Ensures 98%+ mechanical availability; maintains clean, serviceable units.
• Provides guidance to field technicians; supports scheduling and mentoring.
• Provides 24/7 coverage; participates in on-call rotations and overtime.
• May backfill Area Manager; performs additional assigned tasks.
