Job summary

Kodiak Gas Services is seeking a highly experienced Field Technician with senior mentorship responsibilities to lead one or more compression jobs, oversee gas processes, and ensure high equipment availability. The role includes backfilling Area Manager and guiding junior technicians, with a strong emphasis on safety and customer relations.

Ideal candidates will have extensive compressor knowledge (Waukesha, Ariel, Caterpillar), advanced electrical troubleshooting, and a track record in waste

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• SSE program completed and at least 3 years in an intermediate Field Technician role.
• Deep knowledge of gas processes and compressor packages (Waukesha, Ariel, Caterpillar, etc.).
• 5+ years compression, production, and equipment experience.
• Advanced Electrical Troubleshooting skills.
• Certifications: Cat, Waukesha, Ariel preferred.
• MS Office proficiency and English communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Direct, coordinate, and perform job activities per Kodiak procedures; act as area mentor.
• Participate in HSE activities; demonstrate safety leadership.
• Troubleshoot complex repairs, major overhauls, and electrical issues.
• Maintain customer relationships and advise Area Manager on staffing and budgeting.
• Ensure parts availability by coordinating with Supply Chain and inventory.
• Provide 24/7 coverage and support on-call rotations; backfill Area Manager when needed.
