Job summary

IEM is seeking a Field Service Technician Level II to perform start-up, commissioning, installation, testing, troubleshooting, and service for IEM equipment. You will join a team that supports customers in the field, ensuring safe, high-quality work and timely problem resolution.

Ideal candidates will have 1+ years in switchgear start-up, strong diagnostic skills, and the ability to work independently with minimal supervision. Travel to regional offices and sites may be required.

Qualifications

• Associate degree or equivalent in power distribution systems preferred.
• 1+ years of experience supporting switchgear start-up and commissioning is required.
• Ability to read electrical wiring diagrams, schematics, and technical documentation.
• Strong diagnostic, problem-solving, and troubleshooting skills are required.
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and elevate issues when needed.

Responsibilities

• Independently perform start-up, commissioning, testing, troubleshooting, service, and repair of IEM equipment.
• Install and modify electrical or mechanical components and subassemblies.
• Attend project meetings and coordinate with contractors, clients, Project Managers, and internal teams.
• Analyze system failures, identify root causes, and determine corrective actions for moderately complex issues.
• Coordinate with internal teams to resolve product or customer issues in the field.
• Accurately document service activities, root cause analysis, corrective actions, parts usage, and follow-up items.
