Job summary

Canon U.S.A., Inc. in Irvine, CA is seeking a customer-facing field service professional to diagnose and repair basic mechanical, software, network, and system failures.

You will service and repair equipment to Canon standards, maintain technical information and reports, and provide guidance to junior technicians while traveling as required. The role requires a HS Diploma or equivalent, 1–2 years of related experience, willingness to travel, and the ability to lift up to 50 pounds.

Qualifications

• HS Diploma, GED, or equivalent experience required, plus 1 to 2 years of related experience.
• Basic understanding of internet environments and ability to complete the 120-day introductory period and the PDIF new-hire class.
• The ability to travel (valid driver's license and acceptable driving record).
• Required to take all necessary steps to obtain security and/or other clearances required by customers to enter the customers’ premises.
• Must be able to lift 50 pounds and be active more than 50 percent of the time (walking, standing, stooping/kneeling).

Responsibilities

• Diagnose basic mechanical, software, network, and system failures using established procedures.
• Service and repair designated equipment to Canon standards and specifications.
• Maintain working knowledge and aptitude of multiple product groups, including basic troubleshooting and diagnostics.
• Meet and exceed customer demands by providing efficient, responsive, and accurate Field/Shop/on-site maintenance.
• Properly maintain all technical information, Field Service Reports, Expense Reports, and Canon property assigned.
• Maintain all technical information and Canon property assigned and provide direction to less experienced technicians.
• Provide solutions to escalated technical and/or customer service-related problem areas for any territory requested.
