Job summary

IEM is seeking a Field Service Technician Level I to support the start-up, commissioning, installation, testing, and troubleshooting of IEM equipment under guidance from experienced personnel. Training, mentoring, and on-the-job learning are provided to support growth in the field service career path.

Ideal candidates have mechanical, electrical, or technical aptitude and a strong willingness to learn, with opportunities to travel to customer sites and progress within the Field Service

Qualifications

• Associate degree or equivalent experience in power distribution systems preferred.
• 0–2 years related electrical, mechanical, technical, manufacturing, construction, or field service experience preferred.
• Ability to read and interpret electrical wiring diagrams, work instructions, and technical documentation.
• Ability to use hand tools, power tools, and electrical testing equipment.
• Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills required.
• Strong teamwork and communication skills required.
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision after appropriate training.
• Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities required.

Responsibilities

• Support start-up and commissioning of switchboards, control panels, and power products under supervision.
• Assist with installation and modification of electrical or mechanical components and subassemblies.
• Perform basic testing of modified assemblies per procedures and guidance.
• Assist with basic troubleshooting of electrical circuits and networking equipment.
• Identify and escalate issues to Field Service Leads or management as appropriate.
• Perform other duties as assigned by management.
