Job summary

Franklin Energy is seeking a Direct Load Control technician to install, inspect, modify, remove, or service DLC devices in residential settings. The role requires basic HVAC aptitude, electrical/mechanical understanding, and a customer-focused approach.

Applicants should have a high school diploma and 1–3 years of related experience; building science or weatherization background is a plus. Valid driver's license and reliable transportation are expected.

Qualifications

• Minimum high school diploma required; 1–3 years in wiring, HVAC, or related tech.
• Mechanical/technical aptitude and basic construction knowledge.
• Experience installing technologies and using tools preferred.
• Background in building science, weatherization, or related fields preferred.

Responsibilities

• Install, inspect, modify, remove or service DLC devices according to specs.
• Demonstrate basic HVAC technical aptitude and safety.
• Work with electrical/electronic systems and mechanical theory.
• Ensure compliance with customer specs and company standards.
• Collaborate in a team to improve operations.
• Occasional weekend travel to job sites.
• Participate in On-Call rotation for after-hours service.
• Conduct inventory and submit reports; keep warehouse and fleet areas organized.
• Ensure fleet vehicles have safety equipment and stay clean.
