Job summary

BearCom is seeking a Field Service Technician II in Youngstown, OH to install and support wireless communications systems. The role involves creating codeplugs, installing equipment such as UHF/VHF and 800/900 MHz systems, and recommending appropriate hardware to meet customer needs.

Ideal candidates have a strong electronics background, RF theory knowledge, and experience with DAS/BDA systems, test equipment, and MS Office. Some regional travel and on-call hours may be required.

Qualifications

• Requires 5+ years in service tech diagnosing, repairing, programming and installing Motorola/Kenwood/ICOM/Vertex equipment.
• Deep knowledge of 2-way radio theory and RF propagation across bands.
• Ability to interpret schematics, blueprints, and diagrams.
• Experience with DAS/BDA systems and base stations.
• Proficiency with MS Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel).

Responsibilities

• Install and service wireless communications equipment (UHF/VHF, 800/900 MHz).
• Create mid-level programming codeplugs (12+ channels, trunking, multiple zones).
• Travel regionally and/or overnight; on-call hours may be required.
• Recommend equipment and hardware to meet customer requirements.
