Job summary

BearCom is seeking a Field Service Technician II to install and support wireless communications systems. You will create programming codeplugs, install equipment, and ensure top-tier customer service across UHF/VHF and 800/900 MHz platforms.

The role requires extensive RF knowledge, ability to interpret schematics, and experience with DAS/BDA systems, along with regional travel and on-call availability. A electronics background and relevant certifications are preferred.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of Service Technician experience in diagnosing, repairing, programming, and installing Motorola, Kenwood, ICOM, Vertex equipment in the 2-way radio wireless and/or communication field.
• Extensive knowledge of 2-way radio theory and RF propagation across frequency bands.
• Ability to interpret schematics, blueprints, and diagrams.
• Knowledge of battery backup systems, base stations, repeaters, multicouplers, and duplexers; TCP/IP principles.
• Proficiency with test equipment including spectrum analyzers, watt meters, TDRs, FDRs, and multimeters.
• Experience with Distributed Antenna Systems (DAS) and Bidirectional Amplifier (BDA) systems.
• MS Office Suite proficiency.
• Journeyman level must be attained within 6 months of employment.

Responsibilities

• Install and service wireless communications equipment (UHF/VHF and 800/900 MHz systems, dispatch consoles, DAS/BDA systems).
• Create mid-level programming codeplugs (12+ channels, trunking, multiple zones).
• Provide exceptional customer service and technical solutions for customers.
• Travel regionally and/or overnight as required; participate in on-call hours.
