Job summary

Columbus Equipment Company, based in Ohio, is seeking a Service Manager to lead field repair operations and ensure high levels of customer satisfaction. You will oversee quotes, coordinate repairs with shop staff, and monitor field campaigns to meet manufacturer timelines.

The role requires strong communication, supervision, and safety leadership, with a focus on maintaining an efficient service fleet and accurate reporting to the Service Manager.

Qualifications

• Requires High School diploma or equivalent.
• Minimum of five years related experience.
• Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Knowledge of office equipment operation and PC skills.
• Basic knowledge of administration and supervision.

Responsibilities

• Provides customer with detailed quote with scope of repair.
• Discusses required service work with customers before repairs.
• Follow-up with customers on jobs performed.
• Maintains customer satisfaction with service performed and staff.
• Opens and maintains field work order files.
• Collaborates with service admin to prepare and close work orders.
• Assists Shop Foreman and service mechanics as needed.
• Maintains communications with the Service Manager about field repair activities.
• Upholds a high morale and work ethic among staff.
• Maintains service fleet, repairs, appearance, safety and cost controls.
• Conducts daily truck inspections and maintains truck files.
• Schedules Field Campaigns to meet manufacturer timelines.
• Helps obtain parts and supplies for service work with Parts Dept.
• Promotes good customer and employee relations.
• Reviews personnel and provides recommendations; understands labor agreements.
• Performs other duties as assigned by the Service Manager.
• Ensures safety and incident reporting procedures are followed; conducts investigations and training.
