Job summary

BearCom, the leading distributor of wireless voice, data, and video solutions in North America, seeks a Field Service Manager to oversee day-to-day operations in the Field Service Department. You will lead a technician team, coordinate with Motorola and end customers, and drive efficient installation and repair work across multiple sites.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of leadership experience in technical management in the wireless industry or equivalent.

Responsibilities

• Manage projects and service assignments as needed.
• Act as direct liaison between BearCom technicians and Motorola or end customer.
• Work with customers to prepare quotes, bids, and schedules for completing installation and repair tasks.
• Assist with organizing and scheduling upcoming field work.
• Provides technical support in field operations.
• Checks functioning of newly installed equipment to evaluate system performance under actual operating conditions.
• Install, maintain and provide technical support and service of wireless communications equipment such as UHF/VHF and 800/900 MHz analog and digital systems.
• Operate mobile, portable radio equipment, dispatch consoles, and microwave systems, using both conventional and trunked radio technologies.
• Diagnose, troubleshoot, repair, and resolve wireless communication equipment problems with customers in a positive and efficient manner.
• Provide hands-on and oversight of communications equipment and peripheral hardware installation such as base stations, repeaters, mobile devices, portable devices, wireless broadband devices, and cctv equipment. Analyze and comprehend diagnostic test results in order to repair and program radios and wireless equipment.
• Deliver and execute customer FATP, perform and document results of site surveys and assessments per defined customer requirements in pre-sales delivery and post installation.
• Make minor modifications to electronic circuitry per customer requests and/or deploy factory software/firmware updates.
• Handles training and coaching of field service technicians and installers.
• Some travel and on call maybe required.
• Help with other projects as assigned.
