Job summary

ITW is seeking a Field Service Engineer to service Metal Detection, X-Ray, and Checkweighing equipment at customer sites across the USA. The role emphasizes hands-on electrical/electromechanical diagnostics, customer service, and frequent travel.

Applicants should have a technical background, 3+ years experience (or 4 years military), a valid passport/driver's license, and be comfortable with overtime. It is a full-time field position with strong reporting and Safety duties.

Qualifications

• High school diploma required; technical school associate preferred.
• Minimum 3 years in a technical role or 4 years of military experience.
• Knowledge of electrical systems and electro-mechanical diagnostics.
• Willingness to travel extensively (80%+).
• Ability to read schematics and electrical diagrams; interpret complex tech docs.
• Proficient with office software and paperwork.

Responsibilities

• Travel to customer sites to service Metal Detection, X-Ray, and Checkweighing equipment.
• Calibrate and test machines to ensure peak operating efficiency.
• Commission, test, and perform preventive maintenance and emergency service.
• Document and report service activities (Electronic Service Reports, Calibration Reports, Expense Reports).
• Promote service contracts, new equipment leads, spare parts, and related services.
• Provide feedback on equipment reliability and design for continuous improvement.
• Maintain stock and requisition parts; care for company property (laptop, phones, tools).
• Follow safe work practices and participate in training and team meetings.
