Job summary

Nihon Kohden America in Baltimore, MD, is seeking a Field Service Engineer to service and support NKA ventilator systems and related devices. You will troubleshoot, perform preventive maintenance, installations, and remote support, collaborating with Biomed, IT, and clinical teams to ensure safe operation and regulatory compliance.

The role involves 75% travel within the assign region, on-site and remote troubleshooting, and documenting maintenance and service actions.

Qualifications

• 4+ years servicing ventilators or respiratory therapy equipment.
• Associate degree; Bachelor's preferred or equivalent experience.
• Certifications such as CompTIA Network+, CBET, BMET preferred.
• Experience diagnosing hardware, software, electrical, mechanical, pneumatic, and system-performance issues.
• Experience providing customer-facing technical support in healthcare environments.
• Knowledge of hospital networking and device connectivity preferred.

Responsibilities

• Service, maintain, troubleshoot ventilators and related medical devices.
• Provide on-site and remote technical support, including troubleshooting, installation support, training, and guidance.
• Diagnose hardware, software, pneumatic, electrical, mechanical, and connectivity issues.
• Perform preventive maintenance inspections and scheduled service activities.
• Provide installation, post-installation, preventive and corrective maintenance support.
• Document service actions and ensure regulatory and quality compliance.
• Collaborate with Biomed, IT, Nursing, and clinical teams at customer sites.
• Escalate complex issues and coordinate with internal teams for resolutions.
