Job summary

Nihon Kohden America in Ohio is seeking a Field Service Engineer to support ventilator and patient monitoring systems, performing troubleshooting, preventive maintenance, and service activities on-site or remotely for healthcare facilities.

The role collaborates with hospital biomed, respiratory therapy, nursing, IT, and clinical teams to ensure safe operation and interoperability of Nihon Kohden devices, including connectivity troubleshooting.

Qualifications

• Associate's degree in a technical field (biomedical/electrical/mechanical, respiratory therapy, IT) or related discipline.
• 4+ years servicing, maintaining, troubleshooting, or supporting ventilators or respiratory equipment.
• Certifications preferred (e.g., CompTIA Network+; BMET; CBET).
• Experience diagnosing hardware, software, electrical, mechanical, pneumatic, and system-performance issues.
• Experience providing customer-facing technical support in healthcare environments.

Responsibilities

• Service, maintain, and troubleshoot ventilator, patient monitoring, and related medical devices.
• Provide on-site and remote technical support, including training and guidance.
• Document service activities and maintain records per regulatory requirements.
• Collaborate with Biomed, IT, and clinical teams at customer sites.
• Escalate complex issues with internal teams to ensure timely resolution.
