Job summary

Nihon Kohden America is seeking a Field Service Engineer to support ventilator systems, patient monitoring, and related devices. The role includes troubleshooting, preventive maintenance, software updates, and customer training to ensure safe, reliable operation.

You will work with hospital clinical, biomedical, and IT teams to resolve issues, support connectivity, and maintain device performance in patient care settings.

Qualifications

• Associate degree or higher in a technical field; bachelor's preferred.
• 4+ years servicing ventilators or respiratory therapy equipment.
• Certifications such as CompTIA Network+, CBET or BMET preferred.
• Experience diagnosing hardware, software, electrical, mechanical and system issues.
• Experience providing customer-facing technical support in healthcare settings.
• Knowledge of hospital networking and device connectivity is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Service, maintain, and troubleshoot ventilator, patient monitoring, and related medical devices.
• Provide on-site and remote technical support including troubleshooting, repair, installation, and training.
• Diagnose hardware, software, networking, pneumatic, electrical, and connectivity issues.
• Perform preventive maintenance inspections and scheduled service activities per specs.
• Complete installation, post-installation, preventive and corrective maintenance support.
• Document service activities and maintain records per regulatory and company requirements.
• Collaborate with Biomed, Respiratory Therapy, Nursing, IT and clinical teams at customer sites.
