Job summary

Nihon Kohden America is seeking a Field Service Engineer to support ventilator and patient monitoring systems across healthcare environments. The role includes on-site and remote troubleshooting, preventive maintenance, installations, training, and coordination with clinical teams to ensure safe operation.

The ideal candidate has 4+ years in ventilator or respiratory therapy equipment service, an associate degree in a related field, and certifications such as CompTIA Network+ or BMET.

Qualifications

• Associate's degree in Biomedical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Respiratory Therapy, Information Technology, or related technical discipline; Bachelor’s degree preferred, relevant education and experience accepted in lieu of a degree.
• 4+ years of experience servicing, maintaining, troubleshooting, repairing, or supporting ventilators or respiratory therapy equipment.
• Certifications such as CompTIA Network+, CBET, BMET, or equivalent preferred.
• Experience diagnosing and resolving hardware, software, electrical, mechanical, pneumatic, and system-performance issues.

Responsibilities

• Service, maintain, and troubleshoot ventilator, patient monitoring, and related medical device systems.
• Provide on-site and remote technical support including troubleshooting, repair, installation, training, and guidance.
• Diagnose hardware, software, pneumatic, electrical, mechanical, and connectivity issues on-site.
• Perform preventive maintenance inspections and scheduled service activities per manufacturer specs and procedures.
• Perform setup, calibration verification, testing, and validation to ensure performance and regulatory compliance.
• Track and resolve service tickets promptly while maintaining excellent customer service.
