Job summary

BD Pyxis Field Service Engineer I is a field-based role supporting automated dispensing systems across the region, including DoD facilities. The job involves remote and on-site troubleshooting, repairs, preventive maintenance, and strong customer relations.

The role requires an associate degree or 3+ years in field service or technical support, ability to obtain government access, and willingness to travel up to 25% with occasional overnight stays. A valid driver's license is required.

Qualifications

• Associate degree in a related field and/or 3+ years of Field Service or Technical Support experience.
• 1-3 years of hardware, software, and IT support experience with both proprietary and standard applications.
• Ability to meet eligibility requirements for obtaining access to all Federal Government Facilities including DoD.
• Strong troubleshooting, diagnostic, and problem‑solving skills.
• Medical or electromechanical device repair experience required.
• Ability to work independently, manage multiple priorities, and travel as required.
• Proficiency with Windows OS, networking, and diagnostic instruments.
• Ability to lift 85 lbs. frequently and perform field tasks.

Responsibilities

• Provide remote and on‑site technical support for automated dispensing systems.
• Respond to, evaluate, prioritize, and resolve work orders within service‑level expectations.
• Diagnose and repair proprietary hardware and software components with full case ownership.
• Independently troubleshoot complex issues and escalate to Senior or Lead FSEs as needed.
• Support government accounts requiring eligibility for CAC access.
• Execute preventive maintenance, installations, in‑servicing, repairs, calibrations, and general technical support.
• Maintain inventory of spare parts and properly maintain company assets.
• Ensure compliance with MDR, regulatory, and safety requirements; document thoroughly.
