Job summary

Cepheid, a Danaher operating company, is hiring a Field Service Engineer to install, repair, and service Cepheid diagnostic equipment across a broad geography. You’ll travel to customer sites, resolve issues, and train staff to ensure equipment performance and data quality.

The role emphasizes independent work within a defined territory, strong customer interaction, and adherence to vendor credentialing and safety requirements. A technical degree plus hands-on experience is required.

Qualifications

• AA or Technical Trade Degree in Electronics or Engineering with 2–4 years of related work experience or equivalent Military experience.
• Strong analytical, interpersonal, and communication skills; capable of presenting and training technical information.
• Able to work independently in a fast-paced environment, manage time effectively, and document activities and expenses.

Responsibilities

• Provide frontline support by rapidly resolving customer issues and troubleshooting, while contributing to service revenue and ensuring strong customer contract retention.
• Travel throughout a designated service region on short notice to support products and field service partners and conduct training to ensure operational performance and data quality.
• Work independently within a geographic territory, while fostering a team-based environment with opportunities for benchmarking, mentoring, and receiving expert technical support.
