Job summary

Cepheid, a Danaher operating company, is hiring a Field Service Engineer to perform installation, repair and maintenance of diagnostic equipment across a designated region in the U.S. This role reports to the Regional Service Manager and is part of the North America Customer Care Operations Team, based in Washington, D.C.

The candidate will travel up to 75% with potential on-call shifts, demonstrating strong technical and communication skills while delivering high-quality service and maintaining

Qualifications

• AA or technical trade degree in electronics or engineering required.
• 2–4 years related work experience or equivalent military experience.
• BA degree is a plus and helpful for growth.
• Strong analytical, interpersonal and communication skills expected.

Responsibilities

• Provide frontline support by rapidly resolving customer issues and troubleshooting, while contributing to service revenue and ensuring strong customer contract retention.
• Travel throughout a designated service region on short notice to support products and field service partners and conduct training to ensure operational performance and data quality.
• Work independently within a geographic territory, while fostering a team‑based environment with opportunities for benchmarking, mentoring, and receiving expert technical support.
